Shine so they can see him - #001

Welcome to The Wind & Word—a daily devotional where the Spirit of God breathes life through the Word of God. Today, take a moment to slow down, open your heart, and allow Him to speak.

Matthew 5:16 - “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

In Matthew 5:16, Jesus calls us to live in such a way that our lives become visible evidence of God’s goodness. Our light isn’t something we manufacture—it’s a reflection of Christ working in us. When we walk in obedience, love people well, and choose integrity when no one is watching, that light naturally shines. It’s not about drawing attention to ourselves, but about pointing others to the Father through the way we live.

This verse reminds us that our everyday actions carry eternal weight. The way we speak, serve, forgive, and give can lead others to glorify God. You may never know who is watching your life or how your faithfulness is impacting them, but God does. So today, don’t hide what He’s doing in you—let your light shine boldly, not for recognition, but so that others might see Him more clearly.

Application:
Today, be intentional about one visible act of faith. That could be encouraging someone who’s struggling, choosing patience instead of frustration, or serving someone without expecting anything in return. Ask yourself: “Does my life reflect Christ in a way that others can see?” Then take one step to live that out. Even something small—done with a heart for God—can shine brighter than you realize.

Start alive in Him. Stay alive in Him.
